The Woodstock Inn & Resort in Vermont is a green resort getaway which incorporates many green initiatives into the day-to-day operations of the hotel.
Guestroom plastics, newspaper, and white paper are recycled at nearby facilities. Kitchen materials, such as glass and plastic, are sorted and recycled, while fryer grease is used to make bio-diesel.
Grass clippings are composted and churned back into the soil. Retired technology parts are sent to a computer-recycling center.
The Woodstock Inn & Resort uses green cleaning products, 80% organic fertilizers on the golf greens, and organic soaps in the guestrooms.
The resort has installed high-efficiency, compact fluorescent light bulbs as well as high-efficiency boilers and chillers. Room rates start at $322 during the high season.
