Gaya Island in Malaysia is home to the Marine Ecology Research Center at the Gayana Eco Resort.
The center houses 7 of the 8 Giant Clams of the world. The Giant Clam Restocking Program provides a safe haven to endangered shell creatures.
Guests get to participate in the Reef Regeneration Program and help replant coral back into the reef.
The resort has a spa and a scuba diving program. Other activities include kayaking, snorkeling, jungle trekking, catch and release fishing, and shopping.
A 3-night package for two in an overwater villa with breakfast and spa treatments starts at about $800 USD.
